One Month and Millions of Gallons of Oil in the Gulf of Mexico
Blog -
Thursday, 20 May 2010 10:04
On the night of April 20, 2010, BP's oil drilling disaster began with a tragic explosion that claimed 11 lives, and now it has become the largest environmental disaster in US history. Today marks one month since the beginning of BP's disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that sent shockwaves across the world, and the total amount of oil is estimated to be nearly 8 times the amount spilled by the Exxon Valdez.

Please join Gulf Restoration Network and friends tonight for a candlelight vigil to pay tribute to all that has been lost and help call on BP and the federal government to do better.

When:   Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:30pm
Where:  Across Decatur Street from Jackson Square in New Orleans, LA
What:  Candlelight Vigil
Why:  One Month of BP's Oil Drilling Disaster

Bring a candle, a poster, and your friends to help send a strong message. Let's tell BP to clean up their act and make sure that government regulators work to prevent this sort of disaster in the future.

For more information and to RSVP, please visit this website. You can also contact me at 504-525-1528 ext 209. See you tonight!
