Knocking for a Healthy Gulf

IMG_5711 This summer, Gulf coast residents from Florida to Texas can look forward to one of our dedicated and passionate activists knocking at their doors to talk about protecting and restoring the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of BP’s drilling disaster.  At this critical time for the Gulf, we will be working to engage community members in thousands of one-on-one conversations, build public pressure to force BP and the federal government to fix the coast, and increase our member base of individuals dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico.

It’s been over a year since the BP drilling disaster first began, and our politicians and leaders have yet to take adequate action to ensure that the Gulf is protected and restored.  It’s time to make sure that the federal government makes BP pay to restore the Gulf, and give affected communities a say in future oil and gas drilling decisions that impact their lives and livelihoods. Your support is crucial for securing this national commitment to a healthy Gulf future.

If a GRN Outreach Associate comes through your neighborhood this summer asking you to support the fight for a healthy Gulf, please take advantage of the opportunity to sign up as a Gulf Sustainer with a monthly contribution. It’s membership support like yours that gives us the resources to tackle the most pressing threats to the Gulf right now, and every day. Join the movement! The opportunity to be part of protecting and restoring a healthy Gulf will soon be knocking at your door.

Raleigh Hoke is GRN's Summer Outreach Campaign Supervisor.
