Bird's Eye View: An Earth Day Reflection In Photos Of The Last 2 Years Of The BP Drilling Disaster Blog - BPs Oil Drilling Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday, 22 April 2012 12:20

First of all, I would like to thank all of you that have supported GRN’s work throughout the last two years of this ongoing disaster in the Gulf. Your support has provided the resources we need to continue with our robust, ongoing field work documenting the impacts. GRN began collecting video and photographic evidence by boat and plane immediately after the Deepwater Horizon sank. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the explosion and those who continue to suffer today.

On this Earth Day, today we reflect upon the beauty of the natural environment as well as the destructive practices that mankind contributes to an ailing Gulf and planet. In memory of the last 2 years of documenting this tragedy, I have put together a slideshow depicting images taken as early as April 25th 2010 and as recent as the last couple of weeks. While most of these photos were taken by me or other GRN staff, some of them were taken by others who have helped contribute to our work. when opening up the slideshow below, be sure to click on show info to see credits and descriptions for most of the images. Please help GRN by sharing these with your frinds and family and, again, thank you very much for your support. GRN pledges to continue in our field moniroing efforts and in our fight to unite and empower people to protect and restore the natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico. The oil is still here, and so are we.
