Below you can find information and resources on how you and your neighbors can help communities and wildlife impacted by British Petroleum’s oil drilling disaster.
Although BP has volunteer sign-ups, there are limited volunteer activities.
Â
Since BP's oil drilling disaster that began on April 20th 2010, there has been an out-pouring of concern from across the nation. Please keep in mind that one of the best ways you can help out now is to organize in your own community to ensure the federal government works to cleanup this disaster and holds BP accountable for their destruction:
- Making impacted coastal communities whole again,
- Providing honest and fully transparent assessments of the disaster, and
- Paying for all impacts and clean-up without standing in the way of an effective response.

Wildlife & Clean Up Disclaimer:
Do not attempt disaster clean ups or wildlife rehabilitation without the proper training, as the oil and by-products of oil disasters & response can be hazardous to your health. Attempting habitat or wildlife clean ups without proper training may further harm habitats & wildlife, and put you in danger.
As of now, British Petroleum controls official clean up and oiled wildlife efforts. Their hot-lines and volunteer sign-ups are overwhelmed. Please consider helping out by instead organizing in your own community. You can click here for information and materials.
