Many streets in New Orleans flood when there is a heavy rain. The irony is that the better we get at pumping the water out, the more subsidence there is damaging streets and buildings. We are working with grassroots neighborhood organizations for better storm water management that sees water as an asset rather than a liability.
The Flood Less New Orleans intern will work closely with our campaign organizer, learning valuable skills community organizing, coalition building, issue campaign strategy, media relations, event planning and what it's like to work inside a hard-hitting environmental non-profit.
