Water Resources Internship (New Orleans based) |
|
Protecting our valuable water resources is critical to ensuring a healthy and resilient Gulf Coast community. GRN has many tools in the toolbox to achieve cleaner waters. We watchdog Federal and State agencies to ensure that the Clean Water Act is properly followed. Nutrient pollution is a serious threat to the Gulf and we advocate for policy changes that limit nitrogen and phosphorous pollution. We fight destructive projects like the Richton Salt Dome project which would take 50 million gallons of water day out of the Pascagoula River. The Water Resources intern will work closely with our Water Resources staff and will have the opportunity to learn important aspects of the Clean Water Act, community outreach techniques, and what it's like to work inside a hard-hitting environmental non-profit. To learn more about our Healthy Waters program.
