As a member of the science team, Naomi supports Healthy Gulf in defending wetlands. They review wetland destruction permits (404 Clean Water Act applications) for compliance. Naomi assembles research, collects information on the ecological and social implications of development, and collaborates on expert comment and testimony. They also contribute maps and Geographic Information Systems spatial analysis to efforts across the organization. Trained as a marine ecologist and geographer, Naomi also harbors a love for exploring the natural world. They hold an MS in Marine Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and an MSc in Geography from the University of Oxford. Naomi resides in New Orleans and enjoys watching water, wildlife and weather in the swamp.
