3rd Annual Environmental Video Competition

Use your creative talent to help restore the Gulf of Mexico’s coast and communities. Enter the Gulf Restoration Network and Charitable Film Network’s 3rd Annual “Protect our Wetlands, Protect Ourselves” Video Competition. The popular environmental video competition is seeking entries from the public to help tell the stories of the Gulf’s environmental issues, and winners will receive over $1,000 worth of prizes.There are two submission categories – one for middle and high school students and one for anyone who is interested in helping to save the Gulf Coast. Each category has a first-place prize that includes two (2) VIP Passes to the Voodoo Experience 2010, environmentally friendly products from Whole Foods Market and other prizes. The winning videos will be screened during the Voodoo Experience in October of 2010! Entries are due by September 9, 2010. See detailed submission guidelines below.- 2010 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES -1. All entries must feature one of the following themes: (1.) Wetlands Protection & Restoration, (2.) Coastal Forest Conservation, (3.) Clean & Healthy Water, (4.) Global Warming, (5.) The Dead Zone, or (6.) the BP Oil Drilling Disaster.2. All entries must be submitted in DVD National Television System Committee (NTSC) format. 3. Public Service Announcements (PSA) must be no more than 30 seconds long. All other entries must be no more than 7 minutes long. 4. All DVD entries must be clearly marked with a title and the name of the filmmaker or organization submitting the video. Title and name should be displayed on the DVD as well as on the accompanying case.5. No copyrighted material may be used in contest submissions without written approval of the lawful owner of the material.6. All cast and crew members must be properly credited on each video submission.7. There is no language or geographic restriction. However, if a language other than English is spoken, English subtitles must be used.8. There is no entry fee or maximum number of entries per contestant.9. A completed entry form must accompany each submission. More than one PSA or video may be submitted per DVD. However, separate entry forms must be submitted for each submission and each title should be clearly marked on the DVD.10. Submissions will be judged in two categories: Student (Youth – Grades 6 to 12) and the General Public (no age restrictions).Winners will be selected by a panel of judges – to be announced.PRIZES: The grand prize winners of each category will receive goods and prizes valued at $1,000 – including a special video screening and VIP passes to the 2010 VooDoo Experience, and environmentally friendly products from Whole Foods Market.ENTRY DEADLINE:We must receive your postmarked submission(s) no later than August 6, 2010. The contest winners will be announced in the fall of 2010.
