Climate change, the fossil-fuel industry, and systemic racism have disproportionately harmed Gulf Coast communities for generations. The ramifications of devastating storms, heartbreaking spills, and depleted fisheries are real. Right now, communities throughout the region are suffering from unprecedented flooding. Now is the time for real change. With the Obama administration set to auction millions of Gulf acres to the fossil-fuel industry next we are standing up for our collective future. Join us in uplifting the interconnected struggles for justice. And let us all declare that Another Gulf Is Possible! From frontline and indigenous communities to environmental-justice and faith-based advocates, public-health and immigrant-justice workers to fisherfolk, national allies, talented artists and concerned citizens, we all will come together during the historic “Gulf Coast Interdependence Day” march on August 20th.
