Photos by Ray NicholsLast Tuesday night was a bit windy in Gulfport, Mississippi, but it didn’t stop GRN and supporters from enjoying an evening cruise on the Capt. Pete. Attendees feasted on food donated from an array of local restaurants and entered the raffle to win items ranging from a stained glass pelican to live oak plants. Live music was everywhere: opera arias on the upper deck sung by Stoycho Hadzhiev and acoustic guitar played by Sara Shepard in the main cabin.Casey DeMoss Roberts, Asst. Director of Science and Water Policy, and Mississippi organizer Raleigh Hoke spoke to a full cabin on GRN’s current work in the area, and their concerns on port activity in the Mississippi sound. Louis Skrmetta of Ship Island Excursions was honored for his generous hosting of the fundraiser as well as his work as a former GRN board member. The rest of the cruise was spent taking in the Gulf on the breezy bow, joined by a couple of dolphins who swam alongside the party. Thanks to all of our supporters who attended and contributed! Special thanks to Ship Island Excursions, Louis Skrmetta and crew.A BIG shout out to our event host committee and many supporters.Host Committee: Ellis Anderson, Julia & Allen Anderson, Terese Collins, Julia O’Neal, Cynthia Ramseur, Chrissy Schuengel, Beth & Louis Skrmetta, Linda St. Martin, Julia Weaver & Robert WiygulEvent Supporters: Bayview Gourmet, Bonefish Grill, Brooklyn Pizzeria, Paul Gaj, Elaine Stevens from IP Casino Resort Spa, Melissa Johnson, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, Judy McRight, Steve Shepard, Natural Capital Development, Salute Italian Restaurant, Southern Flavor Catering
