Celebrate Green Infrastructure in your Neighborhood – New Orleans
Join Healthy Gulf and Waters-By-You Saturday, November 7th, 10 am – 12 pm* to celebrate the completion of phase 1 of new green infrastructure on Bayou Michoud!
This green infrastructure pilot project, part of a larger vision for a New Orleans East Community Water Plan, for Village de l’Est is the result of community science and design workshops that took place from November 2023 to March 2024 with New Orleans East residents.
The first phase of trees were planted in the Spring of 2025 and construction was just completed on a 250 sq. ft. bioswale, located on the banks of the canal near the intersection of Michoud and Lourdes, will help store and clean stormwater, and enhance public spaces for the neighborhood.
When: Saturday, November 7th, 10 am – 12 pm
Where: Meet near 1330 Lourdes St, New Orleans, LA 70129
Please contact Sage Michael Pellet with any questions.
* In case of rain, celbration will be 11/14 10am – 12pm
