Here at GRN we’re lucky to have formed several great partnerships with artists, local businesses, and national companies that are devoted to protecting and restoring the Gulf. With the holidays fast approaching, we’ve compiled a list of our artist and business supporters to provide some unique holiday gift ideas.Annie Moran Fine JewelryAnnie Moran is a New York-based artist who specializes in illustration and jewelry. Her Fine Jewelry line is singular in its use of gemstones and precious metals to create beautiful and unusual shapes. Annie donates a portion of the proceeds from her Wetlands collection to GRN. Bird ProjectMade from biodiesel-produced black glycerin, each bird-shaped soap contains a ceramic bird made from Louisiana clay that makes a great holiday keepsake. Soapmaker Tippy Tippens is dedicated to supporting groups working to restore Lousiana’s coast after the BP drilling disaster, and half of her proceeds go to GRN and International Bird Rescue. Blue Frog ChocolatesA New Orleans-based confectionary that sources domestic and imported chocolates, Blue Frog specializes in party trays, Mardi Gras favors, and holiday gift baskets. Defend New OrleansWith a vision to spread New Orleans culture and pride through unique T-shirts and accessories, Defend New Orleans has supported GRN with a collection of “Defend the Gulf” T-shirts, donating their net proceeds to GRN. NOLA Soup CompanyNOLA Soup Company produces a variety of prepared soups and gumbos made from all natural ingredients and sold in sustainable packaging. In an effort to support wetlands restoration, NOLA Soup Company has chosen GRN as its non-profit partner, and donates part of their proceeds to our coastal restoration campaign. Pippin Frisbie-CalderA New Orleans-based printmaker whose work is inspired by the unique beauty of Louisiana’s coastal wetlands, Pippin Frisbie-Calder has been partnering with GRN for the past year to spread the word about GRN’s work through her art. We’ve been lucky to have Pippin’s beautiful prints on the walls of our conference room, and we opened our green gallery to the public on the night of Art for Art’s Sake in October. Sarah QuintanaSarah Quintana is a talented singer-songwriter from New Orleans who draws influence from the jazz and folk traditions of Louisiana and beyond. We have collaborated with Sarah on a number of local events, including our fall fundraiser at Mondo restaurant.
