The Trump Administration’s EPA and Army Corps of Engineers announced a new proposed rule to further restrict which water bodies and wetlands are protected from pollution and destruction under the Clean Water Act. This “Polluted Water Rule” will let polluters dump in, and destroy, more waters and wetlands all across the country than any time in the last over fifty years. This move by the administration is part of an ongoing effort to weaken the Clean Water Act and our wetland protections.
With this proposed “Polluted Water Rule”, it is clear the current EPA is more focused on catering to the interests of industrial polluters than enforcing our landmark environmental and health protection laws.
