KIMBERLY TERRELL

Dr. Kimberly Terrell is a Visting Scientist with the Center for Applied Environmental Science (CAES) and a Contributing Member in Tulane Cancer Center’s Population Sciences & Prevention Program. She has expertise in environmental health, air pollution, epidemiology, statistics, and GIS analysis. Her current research focuses primarily on understanding the health impacts and economic tradeoffs of industrial air pollution among underserved communities in the U.S. Gulf South. Prior to joining EIP, Dr. Terrell was a Research Scientist and Director of Community Engagement at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic (New Orleans, Louisiana). She earned her Ph.D. in Conservation Biology from the University of New Orleans through a research partnership with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Dr. Terrell has provided expert testimony to the U.S. Congress Subcommittee on the Environment, the Louisiana Senate Environmental Quality Committee, and to the Louisiana Legislative Auditor. She is a recipient of the David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellowship, the Tulane Environmental Stewardship Award, and the American Association of Law Schools Pro Bono Award.
