Teresa A. Carrillo
Teresa grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast and studied science in college, obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marine science. Teresa worked in the public health sphere teaching food handler classes, and out in the community as an inspector for food hygiene and sanitation. She later went to work for the US Fish and Wildlife Service as a fisheries biologist in the environmental contaminants program. Teresa has also worked the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation, a small community based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the bays and marine species of the Coastal Bend area of Texas.
Teresa currently works with Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi’s Center for Coastal Studies, is treasurer for the Coastal Bend Sierra Group, is on the board of the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation, and is the representative for the environment on the Region N Water Planning Group.
