Terese P. Collins
Terese P. Collins is a retired business owner and longtime advocate for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She owned Collins & Associates, a successful marketing consultancy specializing in exhibits and special events for over 30 years. Terese is a Board member and past President of Gulf Islands Conservancy, Inc. (GIC), a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the barrier islands, wetlands, and marine resources of the Mississippi coastal zone and Gulf of Mexico. Through GIC, she has fostered partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to promote public stewardship and protect fragile coastal ecosystems.
Terese previously served as Research and Development Specialist for the City of Biloxi, leading innovative city projects and completing environmental impact statements for CDBG initiatives. As a Special Projects Officer with the Mississippi Bureau of Marine Resources, her educational and grant work was recognized as exemplary by NOAA.
A Biloxi native, Terese graduated with highest honors from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is active in local organizations, a Master Naturalist, Mississippi Water Steward, and enjoys tennis, gardening, and coastal conservation.
