Toxic Tour – Environmental Justice at the Frontlines

Location: Greater New Orleans region (route in collaboration with Healthy Gulf and local EJ partners)

Join the Union of Concerned Scientists, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, and Louisiana community leaders for a powerful Toxic Tour exploring the realities of environmental injustice in the Gulf South. Hosted in partnership with Healthy Gulf, the tour will take participants to fenceline communities impacted by industrial pollution and ongoing restoration efforts.

Through first-hand storytelling, local expertise, and site visits, participants will learn how residents are confronting air and water pollution, advocating for change, and advancing community-led science and environmental justice.

This immersive experience will connect AGU participants and environmental researchers to the lived realities of the people most affected by climate and environmental inequities, transforming data into empathy, science into solidarity, and observation into action.
