Position Title: Wild & Scenic Film Festival Student Ambassador

Healthy Gulf is seeking 25 passionate Student Ambassadors to help bring the Wild & Scenic Film Festival to life in St. Petersburg and New Orleans. Ambassadors will support a full day of film, art, music, and community action centered on protecting the Gulf of Mexico and local communities.
About the Role
Student Ambassadors will join the Wild & Scenic Film Festival team and Healthy Gulf staff for approximately three meetings in advance of the event for onboarding, training, and role assignments. On festival day, Ambassadors will help create a welcoming, action‑oriented space for families, students, local partners, and supporters, and will receive a small stipend upon completion of their event hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Ambassadors will be scheduled in shifts that may include:
- Event setup and load‑in: Assist with vendor check‑in, table and signage setup, art supplies, and “Gulf Guardians” pledge and action stations.
- Check‑in and ticketing: Greet guests, scan tickets, direct attendees to seats, and manage lines.
- Ushers and audience flow: Guide seating, maintain a quiet environment, monitor capacity, and support ADA access.
- Program support: Distribute programs, support brief remarks from stage, and assist with transitions/Q&A as needed.
- Action touchpoints: Share QR codes for sign‑ups, petitions, and email list; offer “one action for the Gulf this month.”
- Venue wrap: Light cleaning, collect leftover materials, and assist with lost and found.
- Screenings & Panels: Support check‑in, ticket scanning, and seating. Help distribute programs and action materials.
- Evening Engagement & Exit Path: Help distribute/collect short feedback survey (card or QR code).
Qualifications
- Current college, or graduate student, or recent graduate with an interest in environmental justice, film, art, communications, or community organizing.
- Enthusiasm for Gulf Coast issues, coastal communities, and climate and environmental justice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable greeting and engaging people of all ages.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow through on commitments as part of a team.
- Able to attend approximately three virtual or in‑person onboarding/prep meetings before the festival.
- Available for a minimum of one full shift on February 6, 2026 (exact times to be assigned based on role and availability).
